Thus it is only natural that synchronization phenomena are observed in many geophysical fields, as the Earth is embedded in the oscillating field of different origin with extremely wide range of frequencies, from seconds to months and years. High sensitivity to a weak forcing may indicate closeness of the critical point. Nonlinear dynamics tools allow quantitative evaluation of the strength of synchronization. | ||||||||||
